La revista BYTE ahora está disponible online

La revista BYTE, para los más viejos del lugar, fue una de las revistas de referencia dedicadas al ordenador personal o como se denominaba antiguamente, a la micro informática.

Esta publicación vio la luz en septiembre de 1975 y su última publicación se lanzó en julio de 1998. Sólo se publicó en inglés, pero universidades y librerías especializadas las importaban en España.

Como dije su último número se publicó en 1998, pero la buena noticia para los nostálgicos es que ahora puedes acceder a ella desde archive.org. Puedes leearla desde el navegador o bajártela en varios formatos distintos.

Acaba de aparecer una nueva revista dígital dedicada exclusivamente a Raspberry Pi, ordenador del tamaño de una tarjeta de crédito que corre Linux. Ya hemos hablado anteriormente aquí y aquí.

The pragmatic magazine

The Pragmatic Bookshelf, famosa por sus libros de la serie "The pragamatic...", publican de forma mensual The Pragmatic Magazine. Una revista, que a juzgar por los libros de esta editorial, no tienen desperdicio.

Personalmente no he leído ninguna de las revistas todavía, pero sí que me leído alguno de sus libros, tales como The Pragmatic Programmer (altamente recomendable para cualquier programador) o Mastering Dojo.

La revista es totalmente gratuita y además dispones de varias versiones: HTML, PDF, EPUB y MOBI.

2600 en formato electrónico

Ya esperaba esto con gran ilusión desde hace que me hice con mi Nook. La revista 2600 ya está disponible en formato electrónico a través de Amazon (US y UK) y de Barnes&Noble. Lo malo es que Amazon no venden libros electrónicos sin DRM y B&N, si no me equivoco, los libros están enlazados de alguna forma a tu tarjeta de crédito, por lo tanto los que no poseáis uno de estos 2 lectores, tendréis que esperar, o no.

Linux+ ahora en PDF y gratuita

Vaya sorpresa me he encontrado al ver que la revista Linux+ ha liberado la primera descarga en PDF del número completo correspondiente a Enero de 2010 (puedes descargarlo aquí).

Pero además, mirando en su centro de descarga podrás encontrar cientos de artículos interesantes como por ejemplo este número de Septiembre "Linux+: Virtualización" y muchos artículos interesantes de la revista como por ejemplo este sobre cloud computing o este repaso a la historia del hacking.
